About us
At Austin Andrew, our focus is to find the most talented people for our clients. We only serve the asset management community and have carved out a niche by only hiring in operations, compliance, legal and finance.
As an owner managed firm, we are highly incentivised to find the right hire for our clients. We understand that hiring is risky, time consuming and expensive. Our role is to share and lessen the burden. The most important measure of success for us, is the high level of repeat business from our clients. Trust and integrity is the foundation of all our client relationships.
We work for our clients on a variety of C-suite roles, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Finance Officer, General Counsel. We also complete searches for all roles reporting into these officers.
As a boutique firm with many client relationships stretching back for well over a decade, we find we can work for an individual client and hire for all levels, from C-suite to a junior analyst. The key ingredient implicit in all these searches is that we strive to understand the unique culture and the DNA of our clients and we will find the matching candidate.

Managing Director
James has over 16 years experience in investment management recruitment, predominantly in, operations, finance and compliance. He has a strong track record in recruiting for asset managers who require future leaders to build and grow their business.
He joined Austin Andrew in 2008 and became Managing Director in 2016. James graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2007.
Non-Executive Chairman
Simon has over 20 years of experience working in investment management firms. Simon started his career with PwC before moving into hedge funds. In 2013 he co-founded a global equity fund manager, which went on to raise $10bn in assets under management.
Simon was a founding partner, COO, and latterly Managing Partner. Simon is a Chartered Accountant and graduated from the University of Exeter.
Director – Compliance
In 2002, Fergus became one of the first recruiters to focus exclusively on the London compliance markets. He has consolidated and developed expertise in this specialism ever since.
Fergus is now a Director at Austin Andrew, focusing on placing key compliance experts across the asset management industry. Fergus graduated from the University of Liverpool.
Associate Director – Finance and Accounting
Oliver has been a finance recruiter for over 20 years. Oliver recruits high quality candidates to fill roles from newly qualified, up to Finance Director and CFO. He supports clients to hire across all asset classes.
Oliver joined Austin Andrew in 2024. He graduated from the University of Sunderland.
